Job Summary

The Fleet Manager provides operational leadership and support to all hub operations and driver assigned to this location. Ensures safe and timely deliveries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Manages drivers’ activities and ensures drivers are meeting and following Hogan expectations and policies and performing to a level that meets client expectations and needs.

· Identifies and addresses any driver performance issues through the use of coaching and discipline, including termination, as appropriate.

· Interviews prospective Concierge and Yard staff and make recommendations on hiring decisions.

· Conducts driver 30- and 60-day performance review.

· Coordinates services provided to customers including, but not limited to, employee, carrier and driver schedules, to maximize profits.

· Schedules and directs drivers to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications, or needs. (Concierge planning, HUB load planning, OTR fleet load planning)

· Monitors drivers’ performance and activities.

· Prepares and monitors daily work and run schedules. Ensure that the Yard is as real time as possible, updating with time in/out for drivers and providing notes of any changes occurring throughout each day.

· Manages assigned fleet of tractors and drivers for on-time pickup and delivery performance, out of route miles, hours of service compliance, home time, special routing needs, and cost control.

· Ensures drivers & Yard are properly trained and has an adequate understanding of customer and company expectations, policies, and practices.

· Performs a daily accounting of all assigned trucks, drivers, and HUB inventory. (Lot reconciliation, RPM Reconciliation) HUB inventory must be performed daily to ensure 100% accuracy

· Works with drivers to reduce turnover and promote longevity of workforce

· Ensures yard inventory is 100% accurate and completes daily reconciliations to identify any discrepancies.

· Keep an accurate log of daily activities and share that information with the Waco group to keep every manager as up to date as possible on any issues that occur and what steps were taken to resolve them. These notes should be as detailed as possible and allow the next shift to smoothly take over without any interruptions. (Shift recap)

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required, Associates degree preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft products including Word and Excel.
• Proficient in Google Docs and Google Sheet.
