Senior VP of Dedicated Transportation Sales

Job Summary

Responsible for setting and executing the company’s overall sales strategy at the national level for dedicated, brokerage and OTR. Provides executive leadership to the sales organization, driving revenue growth, market expansion, and customer satisfaction. Partners with operations, marketing, and executive leadership to align sales initiatives with company objectives, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements the company’s national sales strategy to achieve revenue, margin, and market share goals.
  • Leads, mentors, and develops regional vice presidents, sales directors, and account executives across multiple markets.
  • Establishes and monitors KPIs for sales performance, customer acquisition, retention, and profitability.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with top-tier customers, shippers, and logistics partners.
  • Oversees major contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and customer agreements.
  • Analyzes market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to refine strategies and identify new opportunities.
  • Collaborates with operations leadership to ensure service capacity aligns with customer demand.
  • Partners with marketing to develop brand visibility, advertising, and customer engagement strategies.
  • Manages the national sales budget, including forecasting, resource allocation, and expense control.
  • Represents the company at industry conferences, trade associations, and high-level customer meetings.
  • Provides regular reports and strategic recommendations to the executive team and board of directors.
  • Promotes a culture of accountability, customer focus, and high performance within the sales organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field required; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience, with at least 7 years at the executive or senior regional level in transportation, trucking, or logistics.
  • Proven ability to set sales strategy and manage a sales team
  • Demonstrated track record of driving national revenue growth and building high-performing sales teams.
  • Strong knowledge of freight markets, transportation industry dynamics, and logistics solutions.
  • Proven ability to negotiate large-scale contracts and manage executive-level customer relationships.
  • Experience managing multi-million-dollar sales budgets and P&L responsibility.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively to support national business development and customer engagement.
