Job Summary

Working closely with sales, operations and pricing, develops solutions that are agreeable to the customer while ensuring maximum revenue and providing the data points needed to accurately price that solution. Evaluates existing business operations to confirm they are operating, at minimum, as developed from the original design.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Takes raw shipping data from a customer and manipulates the data into a workable form
• Uses Appian software to develop and report solutions (using DOT hours of service) to meet the needs of the customer and maximize revenue
• Creates output of the number of resources needed (trucks, drivers, trailers), and shows how the resources would operation within a given week (Truck utilization charts and Driver utilization charts).
• Reviews contractual commitments, customer specifications, or related information to determine logistics or support requirements.
• Determines logistics support requirements, such as equipment needs and staffing needs
• Provides logistics solutions for customers
• Provides solutions to sales and pricing.
• Participates in customer meetings/calls explaining solutions to customers
• Evaluates effectiveness of current or future logistical processes.
• Develops logistic metrics, internal analysis tools, or key performance indicators for business units.
• Analyze or interprets logistics data involving customer service, forecasting, procurement, and transportation operations.
• Prepares or validates documentation on automated logistics or maintenance-data reporting or management information systems.
• Identifies cost-reduction or process-improvement logistic opportunities.
• Develops cost estimates, forecasts, or pricing to sales.
• Conducts logistics studies and analyses.
• Applies logistics modeling techniques using Appian direct route and resource pro to develop transportation solutions or address issues such as operational process improvement.
• Prepares transportation strategies or conceptual designs for management.
• Partners with sales, recruiting and operations to obtain all necessary information to produce pricing for the designed solution.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Logistics or engineering.
• 5+ years in the transportation industry with knowledge of DOT HOS
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong relationship building skills
• Excellent analytical, organizational and planning skills
• Strong customer service orientation
• Proficient in Microsoft products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of Appian software is a plus.
• Ability to travel estimated at 10%
